Why We Made These Stories Differently

This isn't a standard Bible-story book made larger. Every choice in it serves one purpose — to make a shared moment of faith easy and comfortable, never a test. Here's what that meant in practice:

How to Read Bible Stories With Someone Who Has Dementia

There's no wrong way to share these stories — the goal is connection, not correction. A few gentle suggestions families tell us help:

1. Choose one short, familiar story rather than several.
2. Sit beside her, where it feels comfortable, rather than across from her.
3. Read slowly and naturally, in a warm, unhurried voice.
4. Try not to ask “Do you remember this?” — let the words simply be a comfort.
5. Allow silence, humming, a spontaneous comment, or a prayer. All of it belongs.
6. If a story has a discussion prompt, treat it as an invitation, never a quiz.
7. Stop while the moment is still pleasant.
